| Thru the “Knowledge for Inspiring Leadership, Opportunities and Spirituality (KILOS)" Program of Gordon and Helen Smith Scholarship Foundation, deserving children of ASKI clients can now study for free. KILOS supports the development of young leaders by providing them with opportunities to obtain excellent training in both academic, social and spiritual aspects. A highly competitive scholarship program, it is open to ASKI and other partner organizations of APPEND (Alliance of Philippine Partners in Enterprise Development) operating all over the country. |

| Dianne Cathlyn Macasu remembers a happy childhood moment chasing dragonflies dreaming about a better life for herself and her family. Her father Alfredo Macasu is a farmer while her mother Isabelita stays at home to take care of the family of 8.
“I call it the road less traveled because I believe that this kind of scholarship is rare. Being one of the KILOS scholars gives me and my family much happiness. We are also very thankful for this opportunity. I will strive to share my learnings to other people and give hope to others so that they too can pursue their dreams.”

| Amina Mendez was born in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija to Bienvenido, a tricycle driver and Remy, a farmer and a housewife. She is a consistent honor student.
“This blessing did not come without any responsibility. Being a KILOS scholar is not only about being ambassadors for Christ. It is about setting an example- academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. It is about studying hard not only for my family, but for the greater good of this country, and if I will have the chance to do so, for the greater good of the world.”
