ASKI at 20, breathes and evokes passion to bring God’s love to the needy. We help build communities into haven of peace, sufficiency, and progress.

At ASKI, we pursue a holistic community development approach
that is rooted on a strong belief in the capacity of the community to
overcome poverty. In our recent review of our strategies, we narrowed down the essential element of community development to love. Love makes for the strongest foundation in building a community. When there is love, there is generosity. Inspired
by love, we do tasks however difficult to bring a smile to a child, relief to the sick or hope to the lost. This is how ASKI sees the way to change a person for the better. Show him love so he can feel love and give love. Filled with love, we see AS KI clients going out of their way to help their neighbors. With their neighbors, they
find strength to build a community powered by unity, generosity and hard work of the members.

As a sign of our love, we at the Board actively interact with the AS KI communities. We spend time to visit the AS KI communities to listen to and understand their needs and aspirations, to share inspiring stories, and to hold hands with them as we move towards a future bright with hope and clear purpose.

In my many years of involvement with ASKI, I have always looked
forward to meeting clients, especially in the mountainous areas of Northern Luzon where the call for development is greatest. We have even adopted modern technology to help us listen more widely. Clients can send us text messages to express their complaints, suggestions and ideas to us.

This deeper understanding of the needs and aspirations of ASKI
communities impress on us the greater responsibility to broaden our products and services. We are called to grow ASKI’s institutional capacity and its network of partners to be able to
adequately support the communities. This is a challenge that we have eagerly accepted. As such, we consistently strive to increase our knowledge and skills. We devote resources to broaden our range of products and services. We establish specialized organizations to
increase our efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of products and services.

How have we lived up to our vision? Beyond the numbers-- in the thousands of borrowers we have reached, millions of pesos in loan portfolio and thousands of micro enterprises set-up,
we have touched lives and spread joy. Micro enterprises are thriving. Children are in school and get good education.
Houses are repaired or constructed. We help make things happen like the construction of a hanging bridge or planting of trees to spur development in far-flung communities.

ASKI has truly been faithful and this can be seen in its good works. May God continue to inspire and bless ASKI and the growing number of ASKI communities for many years to come.
