| Sponsored by the National Livelihood Development Corporation (NLDC), ASKI received the same award for three consecutive years.
“This recognition is a clear manifestation of NLDC’s continued efforts in recognizing, rewarding and encouraging its partners to help microentrepreneurs who are determined to rise out of poverty,” said Rolando B. Victoria, ASKI executive director.
According to NLDC, “the SIPAG Awards which started in 2006 is given annually to encourage and promote the best practices and the achievements of its partner microfinance institutions and microentrepreneurs.”
The partner institutions who won the awards showed “remarkable performance in extending credit, financial advice, and other technical support to microenterprises.”
Meanwhile, on the microentrepreneur category, it highlighted the successes of microentrepreneurs who have been able to rise above poverty through determination and discipline.
“Our award as an organization does not only inspire us but also strengthened our commitment to help more Filipinos,” Victoria said.
The NLDC program provides livelihood and enterprise development assistance to small farmer beneficiaries in the agrarian reform communities through the provision of microcredit.
Recently, ASKI, NLDC, Catholic Relief Services-Philippines (CRSP), Jollibee Foundation and other public and private institutions collaborated in a project on value chain financing for agriculture.
